Profile and features of the Canadian Solar Group

Canadian Solar Inc., which is the parent company of the Canadian Solar Group, a consolidated corporate group, was founded in Ontario, Canada in 2001. It has been publicly listed on the NASDAQ (Global Market) in the United States in 2006.
The businesses operated by the Group cover a broad spectrum across the photovoltaic market from the planning, manufacture and sales of solar modules to the provision of EPC and O&M services.
As of December 31, 2017, the total net revenues of the Group stood at 3,390 million dollars and its gross profit was as high as 640 million dollars. In addition, it is a global corporate group that has business locations in 18 countries and has more than 12,000 employees as of March 31, 2018. Canadian Solar Inc. was evaluated as the No.1 solar module supplier in the world in 2016. "
The Group began operating in Japan in 2009, positioning our country as one of the important PV markets with growth potential. It has been developing a track record in Japan, mainly in sales of solar modules for residential and industrial use and in the promotion of projects for developing solar power plants.

Business mix and business size of the Canadian Solar Group

The Canadian Solar Group operates mainly in the two business segments of Module and Energy.
As of March 31, 2018, the Group operates globally having business locations in 18 countries with a focus on the module business. In recent years, the Group has also been committed to expanding its businesses related to the energy business.
The consolidated total net revenues of the Canadian Solar Group (in the fiscal year ended December 2017) stood at 3,390 million US dollars, which is the second highest among consolidated corporate groups that engage in similar businesses and that are listed in the United States.

Global Execution of Solar Power Plant Development Projects by the Canadian Solar Group

In the Energy business segment, Canadian Solar Inc. and its major subsidiaries execute solar power plant development projects all over the world.
As of the end of March 2018, the Canadian Solar Group owns solar power plants in operation (“operating power generation facilities”) with an approximate total panel output of 1.1 GW(panel output base).
Solar power plant development projects with construction expected to get underway within a year (“project pipelines”) have an approximate total panel output of 2.3 GW(panel output base).
The Canadian Solar Group sees Japan as the most significant market in Asia among the countries where it has project pipelines, as discussed below.
