Management Base and Material Issues Underpinning Sustainable Value Creation Properly disclosing information and ensuring transparency
Basic Approach
To strengthen mutual trust between CSIF, CSAM and stakeholders, CSIF and CSAM disclose information about sustainability in a timely and appropriate manner and also make information disclosures in compliance with international initiatives to achieve communication with world-class levels of transparency.
Regular Reporting on Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Activities
Canadian Solar Asset Management K.K., which is CSIF's Asset Manager, supports the basic idea of the PRI and became a signatory in August 2019.
PRI signatories are required to report on their PRI activities annually.
Disclosure in Line with TCFD Recommendations
CSAM expressed support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in February 2022, and discloses information on governance, strategy, risk management, and indicators/targets in line with the TCFD recommendations.

Disclosure in Compliance with Article 8 of the SFDR
The EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) is a regulation aimed at increasing the transparency of sustainability investment and developing an environment that makes it easier for investors to make ESG investment decisions. The SFDR also helps prevent the greenwashing of investment products (making investors believe they are environmentally friendly when in fact, they are not.)
The fund operated by CSIF and CSAM is classified as an Article 8 fund, a term used to refer to a product that promotes positive environmental or social qualities in accordance with the SFDR, and disclosures in compliance with Article 8 of the SFDR are made.
